JOB SUMMARY

The Host will welcome all guests to the restaurant with a friendly greeting, seat guests in a professional and timely manner through utilization of Open Table and assist Steakhouse management with efficiently running the dining room.

All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates friendliness, initiative, professionalism, personal awareness and integrity while exercising confidentiality in the appropriate areas of their performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide a warm, friendly greeting to all guests that pass by or approach podium
• Ensure entry is monitored at all times
• Maintain working knowledge of Open Table reservation system
• Help seat dining guests, present clean menus and introduce server
• Work with the Manager to coordinate dining room floor, rotate seating between server sections and manage the waitlist
• Must be familiar and proficient with menus, general restaurant operational policies and property information to ensure questions are addressed properly
• Retrieve menus from kitchen and dining room to return to podium
• Interact with guests as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience and invite them to return
• Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
• Assist in bussing and/or resetting tables as needed
• Show willingness and effort to work as a team
• Regularly provide information to servers and Supervisor/Manager regarding guest reactions, comments, or problems that may arise and any safety/appearance concerns to ensure a quality and safe environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent people skills and ability to courteously and efficiently interact with fellow employees, management and guests to ensure a positive experience
• Must pay attention to detail including cleanliness and safety
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and listen attentively
• Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
• Ability to bend, stand, walk and exert well-paced mobility during entire shift
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
