Host/Cashier | $16hr + tips
JOB SUMMARY
The Host/Cashier will welcome all guests to the restaurant with a friendly greeting, take their reservation to seat immediately or add to waitlist when necessary, escort them to their seats and present clean menus.
All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates friendliness, initiative, professionalism, personal awareness and integrity while exercising confidentiality in the appropriate areas of their performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a warm, friendly greeting to all guests that pass by or approach podium. Ensure entry is monitored at all times
- Seat dining guests, present menus and introduce server
- Must be familiar and proficient with menus and general restaurant operational policies to ensure questions and to-go orders are handled properly
- Retrieve menus from kitchen and dining room to return to podium
- Process payment utilizing the POS system while ensuring accuracy of cash, credit card, comp and other transactions
- Interact with guests as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience and invite them to return
- Accurately count assigned bank at beginning and end of each shift
- Follow all cash handling policies and procedures and keep variances to a minimum
- Assist in bussing and/or resetting tables as needed
- Show willingness and effort to work as a team
- Regularly provide information to servers and Supervisor/Manager regarding guest reactions, comments, or problems that may arise and any safety/appearance concerns to ensure a quality and safe environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Cash handling experience in a fast-paced high-energy service environment preferred
- Must be able to bend, stand, walk and exert well-paced mobility during entire shift
- Excellent people skills and ability to courteously and efficiently interact with fellow employees, management and guests to ensure a positive experience
- Must pay attention to detail including cleanliness and safety
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English and listen attentively
- Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
