Job Summary

The Banquet Set-Up/Outside Maintenance Person will primarily support the banquet department with the set-up, breakdown and cleaning expectations for all on-site events (indoor and outdoor). The team member will also actively contribute to the efforts of other departments throughout the week such as Public Area Cleaning, Dishwashing and Maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for arranging event space as specified by the Banquet Manager to accommodate scheduled groups including meetings, weddings, etc.
  • Reads and interprets Banquet Event Orders to ensure proper room set up
  • Set-up/breakdown may include dance floors, tables, chairs, platforms, buffet lines, displays, etc.
  • Transports items needed for functions from on-site storage facilities
  • Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and general appearance of all storage space, furniture and equipment
  • Helps maintain the cleanliness of the banquet room and outdoor event spaces including clearing away debris, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning mirrors and windows, etc.
  • Participates in monthly inventory
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures
  • Actively contributes to the efforts of other departments when no banquet events are scheduled including Public Area Cleaning, Outside Maintenance, Warehouse, Stewarding.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous set-up experience preferred, but not required
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Must have demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English and listen attentively
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on banquet needs
  • Ability to lift large objects weighing up to 60 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull carts weighing 200+ lbs
  • Ability to grasp, hold, reach, bend, use a step stool, have hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Mobility to move quickly and easily throughout the property
