JOB SUMMARY

The Food Server is responsible for maintaining high standards of the operation in quality and service to maximize profits and create a positive guest experience. The Server is a salesperson with expert menu and company knowledge who offers suggestions and answers questions to ensure satisfaction.


All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates friendliness, initiative, professionalism, personal awareness and integrity while exercising confidentiality in the appropriate areas of their performance.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet guests, share menu knowledge, accurately take food/beverage orders, place orders and deliver all requested items to guests
  • Promote positive guest relations by projecting a courteous, helpful attitude and assisting guests throughout their visit
  • Present food and beverage items ordered while ensuring quality and consistency
  • Enter all orders into POS system with accuracy
  • Clear table of used items and dishes in a timely manner
  • Provide accurate check to guest and ensure payment is made
  • Perform assigned opening duties to stock station with proper supply levels needed for the shift and closing side work to ensure a clean and safe station.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned section including cleanliness and organization
  • Maintain open communication as a liaison with the FOH and BOH, and other departments to ensure efficient guest service
  • Regularly provide information to Supervisor/Manager and Chef regarding guest reactions, comments, or problems that may arise and any safety/appearance concerns throughout the casino to ensure a quality and safe environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Previous restaurant service experience required
  • Maintain working knowledge of a service POS system
  • Ability to promote and sell
  • Excellent people skills and ability to courteously and efficiently interact with fellow employees, management and guests to ensure a positive experience
  • Must pay attention to detail including cleanliness and safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and listen attentively
  • Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to lift, handle and carry (e.g. trays and equipment) a minimum of 25 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to bend, stand, walk and exert well-paced mobility during entire shift
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays


CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

  • Alcohol Awareness Training required
